Popis materiálu
The resource combines artistic pattern work with technical themes such as electrical components, circuits, sensors, motors, and automation.
Students are encouraged to observe the designs, recognize familiar technical elements, discuss what the motifs remind them of, and then color or complete the patterns in their own way.
The goal is not to teach schematic symbols through coloring. Instead, the resource offers a calm, creative way to stay connected to technical content while supporting concentration, visual observation, and classroom relaxation.
The complete resource includes activities inspired by:
Electrical Components – resistors, capacitors, coils, diodes, transistors, power sources, light bulbs, and other technical motifs
Electrical Circuits – sources, conductors, switches, loads, and stylized circuit connections
Sensors and Motors – motors, light sensors, temperature sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and other sensing elements
Automation – motors, sensors, PLCs, pneumatic components, conveyors, robotic arms, and automation technology
Technical Patterning – students complete technical objects using repeating lines, dots, waves, spirals, hatching, geometric patterns, and their own creative designs
How can you use it?
These activities work well:
during a relaxed part of the lesson,
at the end of a unit,
after demanding technical work,
for early finishers,
during substitute lessons,
for project or themed days,
during vocational or practical training,
for individual or pair work,
in technical, STEM, or electrical engineering clubs.
One activity typically takes approximately 10–30 minutes, depending on the complexity of the design and how the teacher chooses to extend the task.
Easy to differentiate
For less experienced students, the activity can simply focus on observation and coloring.
Older or more advanced students can also:
identify technical elements,
explain their functions,
distinguish between components, sensors, and actuators,
connect the designs to current classroom topics,
discuss which elements are technically realistic and which are artistically stylized,
create their own technically inspired patterns.
What’s included?
More than 30 creative technical activities
Electrical components
Electrical circuits
Sensors and motors
Automation
Technical patterning
Teacher guidance and classroom-use ideas
Bonus paper-saving printing option with 6 compact mandalas arranged two per A4 page
Important note
The designs are artistically stylized. Some symbols, connections, and shapes may form part of the ornament and may not correspond to standard technical schematics. The activities are therefore not intended as examples of correct wiring or as replacements for standard electrical diagrams.
Observe • Discover • Create • Relax
This resource is ideal when you want students to stay connected to technical subjects while giving them space to slow down, focus, and create.
